Sustainable Landscape Design: organic,
waterwise, beautiful; natives, edibles
Since 1996, Salamander Designs has focused on designing landscapes that are lower maintenance, beautiful year’round and sustainable, including organic gardening, soil health, the right plant for the right place, water conservation and retention, lawn reduction, incorporation of native and edible plants, and naturescaping.
In addition, Salamander Designs practices recycling and energy conservation, uses 100% post-consumer content recycled paper products whenever possible, recycles ink cartridges, uses local products and services whenever possible, tries to use only organic and fair-trade products, and contributes to the community through donation of services and other activities.
Services include: Consultation; Plant Selection, Procurement, and Placement; Designs for smaller areas = $160 for first 2 hours of consultation, $75/hr thereafter; Pruning = $50/hr.
Teaching & Coaching many garden, design, and sustainability-related topics: basics of design, naturescaping and natives, lower-maintenance landscaping, year’round beauty, lawn alternatives, organic gardening, soil health, pruning, plants for specific needs (e.g. drought-tolerance, raingardens, shade).
